The
following materials are available at local stores and
you may already have equivalent materials. All
materials are also available online at stores like www.utrechtart.com
and www.dickblick.com and www.cheapjoes.com at student
prices. This is a minimum list of materials required for
the workshop. You are welcome to bring things like drafting
squares and other drawing pencils if you have them.
- Newsprint pad (white preferable), 18 x 24 minimum
- Drawing Board
- Easel
- Kneaded rubber ‘charcoal’ eraser
- Charcoal drawing pencils 4B to HB
- Compressed Charcoal
- Vine Charcoal
- Graphite pencils varied 4B to HB
- White vinyl eraser
- Basic sharpener
- White conte crayon or other white pencil
- Inexpensive 12” ruler or other straight edge
- Tissues (Kleenex)
- Painters need canvas minimum size 18x24
- Acrylic paints in primary colors (red, Yellow, Blue)
- Mars Black and Zinc White
- Cotton rags
- Mixing palet
- small containers for water and mixing
- Brush assortment filbert #2, #4, #8, #10
Aditional

- Round and Filbert water based Brushes from 01 to #8 sizes
- Acrylic Gesso
- Water container
- Acrylic or watercolor Black
- Painter’s rags
- 18” wide roll of clear tracing paper

The Cookie Rule
If
your cell phone, laptop, or other electronic wonder
box beeps, blinks or plays the Star-Spangled Banner
during the workshop, you are asked to restore your honor
with the class by bringing cookies for everyone at the
next workshop.
